Hey everyone,

As some of you know, I took on another web site that was based out of the UK. I've switched the forum software from phpbb to vBulletin and redesigned the layout. The main homepage still has the old layout (Conception 2 School), but the forums have the new layout visible (Conception-2-School Forums - Pregnancy, Babies, Birth, Parenting, Fitness & Health).

Please take a look and let me know what you think. So far the members seem to like it a lot, but I want some opinions from some of the professionals

I actually did originally leave the print background in, but it was too distracting and some other peeps said it made it look kind of unprofessional.

something odd in IE 6, well, actually 2 things.....

If you hover over the top buttons, and then mouse up to the logo, the logo disappears. The logo, two thirds of it is more purple than the rest (I don't know if that was by design), but it's a little unfinished looking.

hmm..that's weird..I'll have to test it on IE6 at work.

Think it looks good J....Again a fixed width style which I'm not a big fan of...Also depends how not VBulletin esque you want to make it...

Thanks R, the original was fixed width and many seem to like it that way. As far as the vBulletin esque, lol, it's hard to accomplish that without heavy template modifications and a lot of graphics. I'm hoping when vB4 is released sometime this year that it will be easier to customize the styles.

Right now the main site isn't really anything useful, but I'm thinking of doing some WordPress integration to have a blog.

J, I agree with benji, the logo looks horrible. 3/4 is a dark purple and the other is a light purple. I would try and fix that. Other than that, I think it looks good.

I'm unable to duplicate this problem in IE6. Do you have another pc with IE6 installed that you can test this out on?

Hmmmm, that's weird..... the other IE6 machines here seem to pull it up ok.... Gonna go thru the settings..... see if I can locate why it's doing this just on this machine.

J, I would just keep the simple logo that they have on their main homepage. I don't like the new logo and the new text. I think the other is much cleaner and classier looking. The new logo that sits on top of the old logo is somewhat generic and cheap in my opinion. Other than that, I think the color scheme flows nicely.
