    My personal website homepage

Ok, I've revamped my homepage, what do you think? Yes, jmh, I know it's a little empty for resolutions beyond 1024x768..... The colors, the fonts, do they match well? I'm thinking the link hover overs should be the same font as the top logo.... Here's the site: My Web Site

Here's what I started with: Old Website

I think you're making progress. I like the colors and fonts much better. I have 2 comments about your 2 images: (1) both of them have very saturated colors, and the hand, in particular, in the larger image, looks horribly over saturated; (2) both of them seem to have small artifacts around the edges, making them look jagged. I think a few minutes with PhotoShop would do wonders for them. A personal observation: I find that for most purposes other than a travel brochure or something, subdued color (even sometimes 70% transparency!) results in more pleasing images. Just my opinion there.

    It's definitely looking better, benji...

I notice that on the blue part...there appears to be some texture....but when you get to the center where the two images are, the texture disappears.

Also, on the "About Me" and "Experience" links, there appears to be two sides of a rectangle showing up...like a white border....

Once you get the layout complete...you should validate it against the xhtml validator at W3C.org.

I like it sben, its looking very sober and nice.
Now atleast for me, nothing looks out of order/theme.

Just one opinion, i think that the on footer of the page, you have info in 2 rows, i prefer 1 row; that'll spread your footer too as the page is quiet wide, so you dont have space constraint.

IMO, the footer is fine the way it is because it doesn't cause the viewer's eyes to wander too much to see all the information. It's centered just right.

Since others have commented on the footer, it's my contrarian nature to comment on the header:

The font you used for the graphic in the header is great for the "PC SOLUTIONS" because everyone recognizes the context. It's a good, modern, spiffy font. But for the "sbenj69.com" part, which most people won't be familiar with, I think it is hard to read, with that horizontal line through the letters. For example, compare the "S" with the "9". How many people will try to email you at sbenj6s.com?

In my opinion, only, I think you overshot just a bit in de-saturating your 2 images. Were it me, I'd brighten them up just a bit.

The refreshing thing is that, by soliciting our comments and responding to them, I think you have made great improvements in the appearance of your site. Not that the original was all that bad, but it always helps to get other peoples' reactions. Probably the only people who shouldn't solicit advice from others would be Michelangelo and DaVinci and those guys, eh? Can't you just see old Michelangelo, laying on his back up there on the scaffolding, yelling down to the Pope, "What do you think, does Adam touching fingers with God look too sissy?"

Good observation, Don. The 9 and S have a striking resemblence.

As always, your critiques are welcome. After all, I wouldn't ask if I didn't want somebody to shoot me straight. Having never done web-dev up until a couple months ago, having people tell me what works is a necessity. I liken it to fixing an automobile. Sure you can do it from a manual, but you can do a much better job under the direction of a certified mechanic. For instance, a manual might tell you to tighten the lug nuts on the tire, but a mechanic will tell you to stagger when you tighten the lug nuts.

So, for all your help, I'm thankful, and think I've tried to do what's been suggested.

Benji, I just ran your site through the validator at W3C.org and it showed 53 errors and 1 warning.
