Default adding refresh button to shout box

When I leave the home page of the forum with the shout box open for
long time and getting back to it, I don't see the latest shouts.

the only way right now to see the latest shouts is full page load - and
the home page is pretty heavy.

adding "Refresh" button to the shout box will be great, or alternatively
create separate page for the shout box that will be light weighted.

The shoutbox does timeout after a period of time, however, when it times out provides a refresh link inside the shoutbox that will only refresh the shoutbox.

Yeap...it's all done via AJAX and if there is new data to be displayed, it will load it into the shoutbox.

Is there a setting which can help increase the timeout limit, currently it times out in 10 seconds or something.

Perhaps a bigger timeout by member would be nice

There is a way, but it's currently set to 6 minutes. After 6 minutes of inactivity, you are given the link to become active and then any new shouts will be displayed.

Looks like the timeout is browser dependent, cuz mine always goes inactive after a few seconds

I'm using both Seamonkey and Opera, I still haven't checked FF

I've been using IE7 and FireFox 3.0 and haven't experienced that.
