    Which Brand of Router..?

    Hey All,

Just wondering what brand of wireless router people use for home / small business solutions...£150 max in cost..

I have used Linksys for quite a while and although the routers are all good their support is going rapidly downhill...

Would be useful to know what brand people use both for me and maybe others here too!

If you select other from the Poll can you specify. If there is a particular model you use a lot would love to hear about it.

Must have the ability to port forward for SBS servers and the like Other than that, nothing fancy is required!

I use Draytek at home and office...They were used by a company I used to work for. Their IT support company suggested using them and had them running in approx 45-50 locations..They said they've never had a failure in all the times they've used them. Having said that, I had them running between 2 locations and one of them seemed to fail...So, I had to switch it for a Netgear...

I do like the setup and options on the Draytek though...Very comprehensive...

They might be slightly outside your price limit though....

Used Netgear a fair bit now (just the freebie you get from the ISP DG834) and not had any major problems...Router to Router VPN was a bit of a pain to setup initially, just wouldn't connect, but seems pretty stable now...

Don't really have experience of the support offered by either though...

    Hope that helps.

I have a D-Link running with my Windows Server 2008 Enterprise server. Works a charm.

    Cheers all,

the DG834 I have been using for a while as a test router, very reliable so was thinking about a netgear option but was first going to try a D-Link...That said there are some really cheap Tenda ones on ebuyer...I know the phrase 'you get what you pay for' comes to mind, but I am tempted

    This is helpful, thanks guys

Also, if you're interested, have a look at www.broadbandbuyer.co.uk I always use them for networking equipment and find them very good and pretty competitive...

Yeah ebuyer are very good, although I think alot of the cheaper kit they sell is end of line etc... Don't know what they're like on comparable prices with other sites...I tend to only look at the offers / bargains ebuyer have...
