    I agree with Wolffy and have stated this before, shem. Using the builtin debugger with VWD or VS is the best option. You can actually watch your objects populate and see what is happening when you run into conditionals...something response.write can't do for you...

    And even better...you can change the values and re-execute the statements to see if it would have worked with the correct data.

    Cool it works now, well the event does fire and so do the conditions!

    I will never again use Response.Write When I set the event to change
    a label rather i got results

    Code:
    Protected Sub rpProjectList_OnItemCommand(ByVal source As Object, ByVal e As RepeaterCommandEventArgs) Handles rpProjectList.ItemCommand
            If e.CommandName = "DeleteItem" Then
                Label1.Text = "btnDelete Clicked and idkey = " & CType(e.CommandArgument, String)
            End If
        End Sub

    Now to try and get my delete to work inside there

    And I'll just mention my other favorite debugging tool:
    System.Diagnostics.Debug.WriteLine(<string>)
    Write <string> to the output window in VS (and I suppose VWD).
