What do you mean you're not able to see it? What are you trying to do?

In Microsoft Word or when you try to view the web site via your browser? Perhaps the format you're saving the document in is causing issues. Why are you using MS Word for web site editing, anyway? You should be using something like FrontPage or even Notepad.

I have a limited experience of SharePoint and AFAIK it's effectively a way of managing/sharing documents and workflow.

You don't edit the pages like you would any other website and even then you wouldn't do it by using File...Edit with Microsoft Word from your browser.

Perhaps you should have a look here for more information. It appears you need MS SharePoint Designer to manage the pages within a Sharepoint site.

If you've edited a page in MS Word and overwritten a file on your sharepoint site, it's small wonder it's not working anymore.

What is it you're trying to do with your Sharepoint site?

SharePoint is ASP.NET so this question does not belong to classic ASP anyway.
