    modifying 8m records in DB

Again with the TM leads. This time, I have to strip the hyphens out of the telephone numbers so I can actually use the leads in our dialer. I wrote a PHP script to do it, but 8 million takes far too long to run through and I keep timing out. Can anyone offer a suggestion to do this mass replacement another way?

(I wish there was a regex replace option in mysql...)

    Have you tried this?
    Code:
    UPDATE [table_name] SET [field_name] = REPLACE([field_name],'-','')
