Often I find myself working on systems that have been hit hard by viruses, malware, spyware, or the like. It seems almost impossible to get a program in that can remove these infectious files, especially the ones that knock out your anti-virus, hijacks your internet, and removes administrative rights from all visible users.......

Well, with well over 2000 system builds under my belt within the last 10 years, I've had my fair share of battling viruses, malware, etc., etc. My secret? Ultimate Boot CD for Windows. UBCD allows you to load Windows from the CD drive instead of the hard drive, and it allows you to perform maintenance on your Windows installation on the hard drive. By loading from the CD, you will not be loading viruses into memory on the OS load.

The first link, UBCD4WIN is for an all inclusive utilities program (antivirus, spyware, disk tools, etc etc). After downloading, you will run the program, insert your Windows 2000/XP/2003 install cd, and create your image.

The 2nd link, Bart's PE, is for those who want to make their Boot CD much more personalized. Bart's PE gives you the tools to make the boot cd, but it's up to you to include what tools you want on that cd.
