Default Find Manufacturer and Device Name for Unknown/Other Device in Device Manager

If you've ever loaded Windows from scratch, I'm sure you've run into this problem a time or two (or if you're like me, thousands of times)..... The problem? A yellow question mark that says "Unknown device", "Other Devices", or "PCI device".

Well, what is this device? Where do I start to find the drivers? Well, thankfully there's a way to find out what that device is and who manufactures it.

The easiest way, is to go to device manager, right click on the offending device, and choose properties. Then, if you click on the details button you should get a box that displays something similiar to this:
PCI\VEN_8086&DEV_284B&SUBSYS_20AC17AA&REV_03\3&B1B FB68&0&D8

the Vendor number is just after VEN_ which in this case would be 8086
the Device number is just after DEV_ which in this case would be 284B

Now that you have these numbers, you can go here: PCI Database

Simply plug those numbers in the appropriate box, and click search. If it's in the database, it will display the vendor and the device.
