Thread: Cant set "Show hidden files & folders" in windows explorer

Hi people
I am unable to set "Show hidden files & folders" in windows explorer.
Everytime i do it, go back and its still set at "Do not show hidden files & folders".

I log in as Administrator only and OS is Windows XP Pro

Someone said its because of a virus.
I have AVG Free 9.0 and Spybot......... they show nothing.

Does anybody know whats the problem here??

Does sound like a virus m. I had a similar problem when I got the Internet Security 2010 trojan that wouldn't let me go into folder options etc. and kept telling me I had to download the software.

Mind you, I hadn't installed a firewall or AV...

Is it safe to download the s/w they offer??

Dunno m. I tend not to download anything like that.

Depends whether the registry options solve your problem or not.

I make the changes, but the problem come back instanteousely.
