A couple of the PCs in the office have a problem with Outlook 2007 hanging a few times a day and having to restart.
One of them has had the problem virtually since day 1 (before I started!) and the other seems to have got the problem since Avast was installed.
I've uninstalled Windows Desktop search from one of the machines as I read on the Avast site that this may cause issues.
I also check the error reports each time it hangs and the errors refer to several dll files (ntdll.dll & msvcrt.dll so far) I did a search on the pc and file several versions of this dll in various places. Only one version was in System32, but there seemed to be a more recent version elsewhere.
Should I copy and paste the most recent dll versions into System32? Will this cause problems? Is there a way to find out the most recent dll version numbers and is it a simple matter of updating them by copying the dll to the System32 folder?
