Questions to Ponder:
Are people more violently opposed to fur rather than leather because it's much easier to harass rich women than motorcycle gangs?

Wow, I'm not too fond of having to redo everything. Maybe I'll just stick with XP on old machines, eh?

I put Vista on a notebook...that was a huge mistake...at least I new better than to put it on my desktop that I use for development and DeveloperBarn stuff
I'll probably check out Windows 7 eventually...but for now, am sticking to XP.

I upgraded my Vista NB to Win7 as soon as the RTM was available. All in all I like it and suspect the Vista to Win7 upgrade is smoother than the XP to Win7 path. However, it wasn't all good.
The upgrade called out one or two of my applications that were not compatible and ordered me to remove them. No problem, I wasn't in love with either one. However, after rebooting, my CD-ROM drive was gone. Seems the driver went away.
So, at this point, I booted from the CD-ROM and did a full install. Hey, there wasn't any I really needed or couldn't restore. I must say, the install was really fast (compared to XP or Vista). And, it didn't format my HD -- I found my old files (i.e. My Documents folder) on the HD! That was cool.
So far, I'm finding Win7 to be faster than Vista, and so far stable. The only problem I've seen so far in with Rhapsody and DRM.

I've been using the Beta and RC on my main work laptop since Win 7 released and will put the RTM on when I get 5 minutes (manic month here!)
So far my experiences of Win 7 have been very positive. Admittedly I upgraded from Vista not XP but the proces was very very easy .. everything just worked. Ultimately Win7 is smoother, smaller and faster than Vista. WinXP while stable will gradually become unsupported by both M$ and manufacturers of new hardware ..But then I am one of those quick adopters of new technology!
