It's funny, but everyone who asks me for help with their computers always starts the conversation with "Why is Vista so $hit?"

I've got win 7 running on my Dell XPS M1330 laptop and it is working a treat. I had vista before which I was happy with (albeit resource hungry) but Win 7 is brilliant, fast, stable, compatible and it is only the RC ! Smaller footprint than Vista and there are some really nice tweaks to make it a nicer experience.

Please test or try it properly before slating it can't stand it when people slag things off without even using them!

On the topic of Operating Systems has anyone else seen that google plan to release an OS next year...? Google Chrome OS!

    Should be interesting

I think we were slating Vista more then Se7en RF...Most people seem to be of the opinion that Vista is a pile of cack...

Think I'll just stick with my XP Pro until I need to upgrade my laptop or desktop..

Yeah, I heard about Google's plans for OS...Isn't it going to be based on the sort of cloud principle? Where all your apps will be server based and you just pick and choose which ones you want to use and when? Dunno though, could be wrong...

Indeed, I think most of us were slating Vista. I'm awaiting to see what Windows 7 is all about before I make any judgements.

maybe...sorry. I just got a bit annoyed by the 5th post...everyone did the same thing when Vista was about to be released and are doing it again with 7, refering back to ... oh don't you remember when xp came out it ws rubbish and had loads of holes etc etc. And it drives me nuts!!!

Although Vista wasn't / isn't perfect, when it was released it had less problems than XP did on release...people seem to have ignored that fact!

anyway, I will shut up...sorry just get annoyed by things like that

Windows 7 is great. The End

I think Wolffy made a good point in that post, however..Every new release of Windows is flawed with bugs...this is the same with most every new release of any software. Once these issues are handled...the software typically gets better...however, I haven't experienced that with Vista.

I agree that every new bit of software has bugs, but XP was an exception to the rule...it was flawed over and over and over again. Vista and Win 7 aren't that bad. In my experience so far.

The automatic assumption that we have to wait for SP1 seems insane, I don't remember that being a thought process prior to XP...

Just my thoughts, we can all disagree

Well, one could refer to Windows Me, which was never a stable operating system.

just my personal preference ... but i never use an operating system until the first SP is released ... heck, i used 98 until after SP2 came out for XP.
