    PC Internet issue

    Hi All,

Hopefully someone can help me out here...this is getting annoying.

The power went out last week during storms when I woke my pc has a black boot up screen but I just turned the power switch off because I was heading out the door. Well, now every time I use the IE for certain site I keep getting the following message:

    Code:
There is a problem with this website's security certificate.
The security certificate presented by this website has expired or is not yet valid.

Security certificate problems may indicate an attempt to fool you or intercept any data you send to the server.
We recommend that you close this webpage and do not continue to this website.
Click here to close this webpage.
Continue to this website (not recommended).
         More information

If you arrived at this page by clicking a link, check the website address in the address bar to be sure that it is the address you were expecting.
When going to a website with an address such as https://example.com, try adding the 'www' to the address, https://www.example.com.
If you choose to ignore this error and continue, do not enter private information into the website.

For more information, see "Certificate Errors" in Internet Explorer Help.

I keep clicking Continue to website option.

    Has anyone encountered this before?

    Thanks for any suggestions here.

This usually isn't a big deal, but see here: Warning message when a user tries to connect to a secure Web site by using Internet Explorer 7: "There is a problem with this website's security certificate"

If the site is a trustworthy site, (i.e. Microsoft.com), you can add it to your trusted sites in IE.

Hey Rebelle, Is the website you are trying to access one that you manage? Cus if not then I don't think it is your problem

Also, IE8 RC1 is out and stable...might be worth a go generally (Windows Internet Explorer 8: Home page). But Firefox is better than IE by far

If it is a website problem then I prob can't help but if it is a windows problem I'll keep an eye on this thread

    Hey,
Have you tried resetting the IE options? Tools>Internet Options>Advanced>Reset? I tend to be lazy and do that rather than dig around for the tweak to make to fix it
Or have a go with IE8.

@ JMH - haha very funny let me re-word it: Also, IE8 RC1 is out and stable in my opinion & experience so far.
Then again one wonders if IE is ever stable, beta, RC1 or Final Release
