    1 Open Internet Explorer 7.

2 Choose Tools from the menu.

3 From the resulting drop-down menu, choose Manage Add-ons, followed by Enable or Disable Add-ons....

4 In the Manage Add-ons window, choose Downloaded ActiveX Controls from the Show: drop-down box.

5 The resulting list will show every ActiveX Control that Internet Explorer 7 has installed. If an ActiveX Control is causing the problem you're troubleshooting, it will be one listed here.

6 Select the first ActiveX Control listed, then click the Delete button in the Delete ActiveX area at the bottom of the window, and click OK.

7 If prompted to restart Internet Explorer, do so.

8 Close and then reopen Internet Explorer 7.

9 Test whatever activities in Internet Explorer were causing the problem you're troubleshooting here.

10 If the problem is not resolved, repeat Steps 1 through 7, deleting one more ActiveX Control at a time until your problem is resolved.

11 If you've removed all Internet Explorer 7 ActiveX Controls and your problem continues, you may need to Selectively Disable Internet Explorer 7 Add-ons, unless you've done so already.

Have you uninstalled Java and reinstalled it? Also, what kind of virus scans have you done lately? Have you ran Malware Bytes and/or Norman Malware?

the 128MB might have been your video card.

well, I always use AVG with threatfire, and occasional scans with malwarebytes and norman malware.

AVG seems pretty useless these days, but threatfire seems to do well, and malwarebytes and norman malware I use to make sure there's nothing else.

    Thanks Sbenj69...

    update....
after running the antivirus today it found 2 trojans and i deleted them...and ran the link you provided (this was run on administrator account).

well, i have 2 user accounts on my pc (administrator and guestuser)...both have administrator permissions...but all seems fine with IE now on the administrator account but when i log into my guestuser account and open IE, the homepage opens but as soon as I try to type or click on something it just closes any idea why it seems ok on the adminstrator account and not the guest?

    Thanks!

try running the malware removal utilities while logged onto guestuser - the Norman Malware also scans active processes and deletes any that may be malware.

if there's nothing you want to save in there, then, yes, that would have been my next solution.....

Hmmmmm, mayhaps system file checker might be in order if that doesn't help.

still having issues with this st00pid pc....

I went and bought Norton 360 because i'm not sure the anti-virus was killing the viruses....it was finding like 30 everytime I booted up. Well, now I installed the new norton and ran it and it keeps finding some trojan.vundo and seems to get rid of it but still keeps coming up every time scan is run and now the problem is ..... my keyboard no longer works...well, not the keyboard but I tried 3 different ones so I tried to uninstall and reinstall hardware for it but keep getting some code 10 prompt. This $uck$ bad....any advice before i take it in for repair?
