Microsoft Excel 2007 Apparent Memory Issue

I am wondering if any of you that use Excel 2007 have experienced this... If I leave Excel open (even an empty workbook) and idle for a decent length of time it causes the app to run out of memory. When this occurs the display becomes garbled. Many items on the ribbon are no longer visible and I am forced to use the task manager to shut it down.

I have found a few instances online of this where the Excel books were very large, but this occurs even on a blank workbook for me. One note here: there is a PDF add-in installed on my version of Excel. I have found some data to suggest that this may be the issue.

If anyone else has this issue would you let me know? If I can, I will get a screen shot of it...

Hey Laura, you still having this problem? I know it is an old post but no-one has replied so had to ask. I use Excel 2007 all the time and have no problems leaving it open for the week very often!

I am running it on Vista, what are you running it on?

If you want to link me to the PDF-add in you are using I will install it and see if it happens for me. Although if you mean the standard PDF / XPS ad-in then I have that already installed and it works fine...

    Dunno if that helps,

    Graham.
