Ok, trying to complete this but one more question.

When I try to Remove everyone, I get a popup Security warning stating that I cannot remove it because it's inheriting from the parent. I'm doing this on the "Reports" folder. Is it ok to uncheck the "Allow inheritance from parent checkbox" on the security tab?

Yeap, it will automatically remove all permissions that are inherited from the parent folder.

Hey Rebelle.. Are you using SQL Reporting Services? If so I might be able to help with that. I use it all the time Did you get this problem worked out?

Ok, not working for me. On the security tab, I removed "Everyone" and uncheck the inheritence box and added my new group (which I'm a user) but when I try it, I get:

You are not authorized to view this page

HTTP 401.3 - Access denied by ACL on resource
    Internet Information Services

Is it correct to do it on the security tab? or should it be on the web sharing tab? or sharing tab?

    Lauramc,

Nope, but curious what and how do you use SQL reporting services?

    Thanks all!

I only mentioned it because it sounded like that is what you are using.... But in answer to your question, I use it to create reports for the company I work for (in addition to all the other odd jobs I do here). It is used with SQL Server and Visual Studio and allows me to publish reports on our intranet. The users can interact with it... assigning values to parameters etc., but I don't have to design my own web page to do it

Perhaps you are authenticating to the web site via IUSR account. If that's the case, then it won't work. Check IIS Manager and verify that you are authenticating via Windows.

Thanks JMurrayhead!!! That was it....I did that it seems to be working properly. I'm not sure why Active Directory is not installed on this server.

Thanks Lauramc for the info. I am using SQL2000 but never have used the reporting services....I'll try to see what I can find regarding it and see if I can use it.

    Cheers!!!
