    free download IIS webserver

    hi

    my laptop has windows xp professional os.problem is my engineer forgot to install IIS at all.now i wanted to run my asp files but as u know i dont have iis install on my machine.

    and i dont have setup cd also.can anyone tell me how to download free iis and install on my machine.

    is it possible?

    I do not believe these files are offered as a separate installation. And if they are, probably not by Microsoft, so I would not trust it.

    Best bet is to get a valid Windows XP Pro disk and install it from there.

    you can splice IIS from win 2k onto XP home with a little hacking, dont see why it wouldnt work for Pro also... Installing IIS on Windows XP Home

    I wouldn't recommend doing this, as you'll end up with more headaches than its worth.

    My suggestion, call back that tech who installed the OS on your laptop, whip him around a
    few times, and ask him/her to install IIS.

    Avoid the headaches
