    IIS7 Rewrite Module

I've installed the IIS7 rewrite module and added some rules through IIS...

I found that my rules were randomly being replaced with another rule and couldn't work out why. I have discovered that the problem was with my web.config file as this was linked to the IIS config manager.

OK so far...So, I looked in my web.config file and have added the rewrite rules manually...However I get a blue underlined error on the initial <rewrite> tag saying "The element system.webServer has invalid child element 'rewrite'.

I have googled this problem and so far found no way to resolve it.

Has anyone found a solution to this issue?

Yep, that's how I have mine micky....

But <rewrite> is not a valid child element of <system.webserver> so the page doesn't function correctly.

OK. I think I found the problem. It was to do with the matching section.

This link helped located the issue... Unable to start debugging on the webserver when using the IIS Url Rewrite Module | Microsoft Connect
