splitting access 2003 database and having user level security

I have access 2003 database- I want to split databse and use user level security.
When I use user level security usually I ( use wizard) and a mdw short cut file is created. I have database on network and users can copy shortcut file on desktop to access secured database.
Now when I split the database it will have front end and back end. How does this shortcut work then?
and I read microsoft notes saying you can copy front end to each users desktop
    thank you

when you stupid like me- you need a answer like to create a shortcut you have to first make a path to access on that particular pc- then you have to make a path to database- then you have to go / wrkgrp and then a path to security.mdw
now also you need quotation marks and no commas
your answer was better - more educated- but did not spell it out
    thank you
