    Crystal Reports - Auto Run

    If I have Crystal Reports connected to a SQL Server Database and write a report, is it possible to have that report run every time a user updates or adds a new record?

    The Report would look something like this (In SQL view)
    SELECT ModDate, ModTime, ModBy, AbsenceType, EmployeeID, FromTime, ToTime, FromDate, ToDate

    FROM Absences

    WHERE Substring(convert(varchar,moddate),5,2)+'-'+Substring(convert(varchar,Moddate),7,2)+'-'+Substring(convert(varchar,moddate),3,2)=convert( varchar,getdate(),10)

    The settings to run, if there are any in Crystal, would be upon Insert, Update or Delete in the Absence Table.

    Thanks!

    What is controlling the insert/update of records? Web application? Client application? As far as I know, Crystal Reports doesn't have a feature to do this within the application itself.

    Just to sort of close the loop on this in case anyone is interested, I now have access to Infoview and I have distributed/scheduled about 3 dozen reports already to send to email.

    They're scheduled to run at a certain time and there are no parameter prompts, but rather, a filter in the where clause that is based on the getdate()+/- days for offset and then sent to email.

    There are event triggers in infoview but haven't quite figured them out yet. I'm thinking that maybe event triggers could cause them to run based on an insert query that is running (via the gui).

    So for example, I have a report that shows when drivers' CDL or Medical cards are going to expire in n days from the current_date/getdate() stamp and this is distributed by email automatically.

    Hope this helps someone but not likely
