We have several IMAP accounts setup with 1and1 for shared email accounts and users have recently started having problems where the password box would constantly popup.

Outlook would also give an error of:-
too many errors.
Protocol: IMAP
Server: imap.1and1.co.uk
Port: 143
Error Code: 0x800CCCDD"

Obviously this was causing lots of problems for users with several IMAP accounts.

The solution I found ...

After I upgraded to Windows Server 2008, I was unable to remotely log in via Remote Desktop. The client machine I'm trying to connect from is Windows XP SP2. When I tried from a Vista machine, everything worked fine.
