Discuss "tif (plug in error)" in the ASP Development forum.

Hi All,

I'm using freeaspupload to upload files to a folder on my server and then i have a href link on an asp page, so when the link is clicked it displays the file.....all works well with doc, pdf, jpg files...but when i use tif file, it does upload the file but i get an error when i try to preview it...

first time i click on the link i get error:
Plugin Error - An error occurred inside a plugin contained on this page.

So I click the error then try the link again, the second time, it does open/show the file in IE window but when i close the window, i get the plugin error again and it close my window/page where i had my link.

this is only happening with the tif file....has anyone been successful with tif files?

I'm sure not an expert in this field, but as far as I know, TIF/TIFF files are not an approved HTML filetype (I believe it's proprietary to Adobe) and you'll probably always have to find some workaround. Here's a pretty good FAQ on them: TIFF File Format FAQ
